Visual Identity, Print Design
A trance music duo consisting of two young women asked me to create a visual identity for their debut album and concert. The band members requested a catchy concept that would resonate both with their age group (twenties) and with the wider audience they hoped to reach. They emphasized wanting to steer away from typical representations often associated with trance music, such as oriental motifs, robotic or space-themed visuals, and a dark, muted color palette. Instead, they were interested in a lighter, brighter direction that would reflect not only their music but also the group’s personality. Building on these starting points and the vibrant, high-pitched, and somewhat retro character of their music, I proposed a youthful concept that, particularly in the posters, draws on 1980s aesthetics. This choice was made to capture the attention of the various age groups interested in this musical genre. The recurring square shape is derived from the keys of the band’s Launchpad, tying the visual identity directly to their music-making process.
